Symantec AntiVirus (vendor: Symantec Corporation) is a virus detection and eradication tool. This is a unified installer for both Windows XP and Windows Vista, including 64-bit versions and Windows Server editions.

NOTE: Installing on 64-bit versions and Windows Server editions are NOT supported by CIS.

Symantec AntiVirus may be used by Brown University faculty, staff, and students.

No faculty, staff, or student may continue to use Symantec AntiVirus once they are no longer affiliated with Brown University. Symantec AntiVirus must be removed immediately in the event that Brown University discontinues ownership of a computer system that has Symantec AntiVirus installed.

IMPORTANT: All other antivirus software must be removed prior to installing Symantec AntiVirus. Additionally, if you are NOT running the Corporate Edition of Symantec AntiVirus, you must uninstall your version of Symantec (Norton) AntiVirus prior to installing this one. Current Corporate Edition users may upgrade without uninstalling previous versions.
