About Windows DCOM ON/OFF Tool |
Restrictions |
All Brown Windows XP and Windows 2000 users.
|
Product Information |
The DCOM ON/OFF Tool (vendor: Brown University) is a tool to turn DCOM services on or off as needed.
For the majority of users, DCOM is seldom used and having it turned on can expose your computer to security exploits.
Since some applications require DCOM to be enabled, this tool will let you turn DCOM on when needed and off when no longer required.
NOTE: You should still run Windows Update to patch the DCOM/RPC vulnerabilities.
