Information

ArcGIS (vendor: ESRI) is a suite of Geographic Information System software products which allow the user to create, edit, manage, obtain, and analyze geospatial data, and develop and publish cartographic representations illustrating the results of these analyses.

This distribution of ArcGIS consists of ArcGIS Desktop and ArcInfo Workstation.

Some rarely-used modules of the ArcGIS distribution, such as the development SDKs are available from Software Services by email request.

ArcGIS software products are licensed material and remain the property of Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. ArcGIS may be used only by Brown University students, faculty, and staff on Brown-owned computers on campus only and may not be used for commercial purposes.

Only faculty and staff may download ArcGIS. Student use is only allowed in public computing clusters.

ArcGIS usage is metered by a Brown license manager.
