User guide
Clicking on a tab containing computing platform (Macintosh, Windows, UNIX) will load the software selections for the clicked platform. Clicking on a column heading will sort the table based on the clicked column.
Table Headings
- Product - the name of the product. Clicking on a product name within the table will bring you to a page providing instructions on how to obtain and install the product.
- Released - this is the date the product was released or last updated by CIS.
- Description - brief description of the product. The name of the product's author/vendor follows the description in small print.
- Restrictions - a summary of user and usage restrictions on the product.
In most cases, products that are restricted to "on campus only" may be accessed through Brown's VPN.
Items labeled (MSCA) are restricted to Brown University paid Faculty and Staff. - Type - a best fit categorization of the function of the product.
