This page contains links to Brown University licensed software and sources for commonly used applications. By selecting the product title, you will be linked to instructions on how to obtain the software. All Brown University licensed software products will require that you authenticate with your Brown username and password prior to permitting access to the software.

Most but not all UNIX software usage is controlled via license managers on the cfarm.brown.edu server on the Brown network. If the software is controlled by a license manager you must be connected to the network to use it.

Some installations require an NSF mount of the appropriate cfarm directory on the user's local mount point, possibly running an install script, and setting the license file. Software can be run over the network or copied to the user's local disk. Other packages require installation on the desktop. Upon selection, information will be provided about installation method, current release and supported platforms, and some startup information.
