Symantec AntiVirus (vendor: Symantec Corporation) is a virus detection and eradication tool. Symantec's active protection feature can detect infection as it occurs, and LiveUpdate permits users to maintain a current version of Symantec virus definitions.

Symantec AntiVirus may be used by Brown University faculty, staff and students.

No faculty, staff, or student may continue to use Symantec AntiVirus once they are no longer affiliated with Brown University. Symantec AntiVirus must be removed immediately in the event that a Brown University user discontinues ownership of a computer system that has Symantec AntiVirus installed.
