Photoshop (vendor: Adobe Systems Inc.) software is used for professional image-editing, assisting users to produce high-quality images for printing, for the Web, and for other purposes. Use Photoshop for photo retouching and other types of image editing.

Installation

To download and install Photoshop:

Notes: KeyAccess must be running to install and use Photoshop.

The installer for Adobe Photoshop 7.0 will also install ImageReady 7.0

  1. Download the Photoshop installer using the link at the end of this section.
  2. Double-click the install_pshp7_m.sit icon on the desktop (if it has not automatically expanded).
  3. Double-click install_pshp7_m to launch the installer.
  4. Authenticate as required.
  5. Check the "Install Photoshop 7.0.1 for OS X, OS 9.x" checkbox and verify the install location.
  6. Click Install to start the installation.
  7. After the installation completes, click Quit.

Operation
Notes

When you launch Adobe Photoshop 7 for the first time, you may get the following error message:

  • "Could not synchronize the color settings because the color settings file could not be found."
Click OK in the dialog box, and the application should startup normally. This message should not reappear unless you reinstall Photoshop.

Troubleshooting
Tips

It is strongly recommended that you decline any updates (automatic or downloads) to your Adobe Photoshop software. Updating this software may adversely affect the operation of this Brown University licensed version.
