SAS SoftwareBrown University has a site license with SAS Institute for the Windows version of the SAS statistical package. This license allows Brown University faculty, staff, and students to use SAS for Brown University-related activities only. This license allows you to install and use SAS either on a Brown-owned computer or a computer personally owned by a Brown faculty or staff member. It may not be used by or sold to anyone outside the University and cannot be used for commercial purposes. This software may not be installed on a computer owned by other institutions. If you leave Brown, you no longer have the right to use this copy of SAS and must remove it from your computer. Users who are connected to the Brown network on campus can obtain the current version of SAS from the Brown Web. Stand-alone versions are not upgradable, however, media for current versions of SAS may be purchased individually. Brown University faculty and staff can obtain SAS media by completing a SAS Registration Form. Be sure to specify the version of your Windows Operating System. Copies of SAS are ordered individually as requests come in. It may take 3-4 weeks to receive your CD with installation instructions. Contact SAS Institute for questions regarding minimum system requirements, purchasing user documentation or other reference materials. Copies of SAS purchased through our site license expire annually on July 31 and must undergo annual license renewal. If you receive warning messages that the license is about to expire when you launch SAS, and you have not received the renewal instructions, please send an e-mail to SAS_License@brown.edu. Renewal instructions will be sent to the brown.edu email address used on your SAS registration form. Upon expiration, users are provided a 45-day warning period followed by a 45-day grace period. SAS will be completely disabled as of October 31 if not renewed. Please direct questions to SAS_License at brown.edu.
