MSDN Academic Alliance

What is the MSDN Academic Alliance?

Microsoft has donated a subscription to the Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance (MSDN-AA). The software provided by this gift may be used by Brown University for non-profit research and instructional use only. Due to these restrictions, most Brown staff members are not eligible to use this software.

More details about the MSDN-AA program are available at the MSDN Academic Alliance home page.

What MSDN Academic Alliance software titles are available?

The following products are available:

  • Project Professional 2003
  • Windows XP Professional SP2
  • Visual Studio Professional 2005, 2008
  • Visio Professional 2003

Windows XP Professional (SP2) is the only MSDN-AA software that is supported by CIS.
