| Microsoft Campus Agreement (MSCA) |
The Campus Agreement is an annual licensing program for higher
education institutions. Brown University's agreement covers faculty and
staff only (students are covered for Core CALs only). Details on Brown's Microsoft Campus Agreement program.

- Terminal Services CALs are included for Faculty and Staff via our licensing of Windows XP Professional.
Note: Students are also covered by the Core CAL.
The Core CAL (Client Access License) gives a user the right to access any of the following servers
deployed on the Brown network: Share Point Portal, SMS, Exchange Server, and Windows 2000/2003 server.

| Microsoft Select Program |
An option for higher education customers to purchase Microsoft licenses
and media for software not covered under the Campus Agreement.
Software available via the Select program may be purchased by Brown
University faculty and staff. Students are not eligible.
(Students may purchase Select products under the Student Select agreement - see below).
Software purchased under the Microsoft Select Program is exclusively for use on Brown University
owned computers.

Microsoft Student Select Program
|
The Microsoft Student Select Program provides Brown University students the opportunity to purchase selected
Microsoft software titles at significant discount.
Microsoft has also extended this program to all Brown Faculty and Staff for personal purchases of Microsoft software.
Note: The Microsoft Student Select Program and software is exclusively for use by Brown University students, faculty and staff.

Microsoft has donated a Microsoft
Developer Network Academic Alliance (MSDN-AA) subscription to Brown University. This software is available
to faculty, staff, and students for research and instructional purposes
only. Due to these restrictions most staff are ineligible for MSDN-AA software.
